'Those who say that individuals are not capable of changing anything are only looking for excuses.' Vaclav Havel.

Our first Czech president (after the Velvet Revolution) would celebrate his 80th birthday today. Many Czech people, especially intellectuals miss him a lot. We miss his love of truth and freedom, honour and respect to individuals, I was personally proud of his friendship with H.H Dalai Lama.

We miss him even more when we have to listen to the words, mostly lies of his two successors. Hopefully our nation will return to the values we fought for in 1989 and the words such as love, truth, solidarity, freedom won't be just empty words.

I'm proud of our university for remembering VH and establishing his place in the campus last year.
