ST PETER'S CHURCH, ILMER
Had a bit of a wander in & around the church at Ilmer today. I have never visited before and as I was dropping C N & Z at baby sensory classes in Longwick, it was but a short drive away. A really super little church originally dating from the 13th Century though substantially repaired & updated during the Victorian era. A lovely plain medieval font and a nice piscina set either side of an oak rood screen set on a low wall. Interesting detailing over the altar and some stone carvings visible at the base of one of the windows. I would guess that they don't get too many visitors in this dead end road as someone was soon mowing the grass & spying to see who I was & what I was doing.
Back to Longwick for 1230 before dropping N off to pack. We took Z home & he had his lunch with us before coming to visit Daph where the young boy enjoyed the company of lots of girls....he like girls !!
Dropped him back to his mummy & daddy & said farewell & bon voyage as tomorrow they all fly out to one of the Spanish Isles for a week.
A bight sunny day - C much better !
