Plitvice National Park
Left Zagreb this morning to head south for the next leg of our trip. En route, we stopped at Plitvice National Park, one of eight in Croatia and probably the most spectacular.
How is this for a cascade of waterfalls and this was only the start:-). A wonderful walk over boardwalks (with no safety handrails) crossing lakes and waterfalls, with beautiful turquoise water and huge cliffs.
Too soon, we had to move on for the long drive to the port of Trogir, near Split, where we boarded our ship for the next 7 days. It takes 34 passengers and 6 crew and will leave in the morning to cruise round the Dalmation Islands.
If they are even remotely as stunning as our hairpin descent to the port, we will be well pleased. So many photos, but wi-fi on the ship is hit and miss, so have to sit in the dining room to get reception at all. Will be unable to comment on your blips until I get home, but hope to be able to post most days.
Sea sickness tablets at the ready, as even in port I can feel the movement is not agreeing with me! Wish me calm seas:-)
