The Dog's Proverbials

Lovely weekend with very close friends coming to a close. Finally back home after running the gauntlet past the M5/M6 junction as the Charity Shield and the new Premiership football season kicked off at Villa Park. All that remains tonight I think is a nice glass of wine, a takeaway and the Olympic Closing Ceremony. Thank you London 2012: "It's Been Emotional."

Just before we left Martin and Angela's in Bristol, I took this shot of 'no nuts' Ben, one of the two family English Springer Spaniels. The absolute classic of an electric guitar is their son Joe's newly purchased Fender Telecaster Old Pine '52 - supposedly made from a 100-year old Indiana pine barn, and made in a limited edition of just 500 to mark Telecaster's 60th anniversary. All yours for £1,500 or so a snip it seems.

Postscript: It seems nicely apt, given my Traction Engine Blip and comments of Friday, that to 'bookend' the weekend's festivities I should catch this one rolling slowly home the other way tonight. The driver in the pale cap, waved as he chuffed by. Both weekend and the Olympics are officially over I guess.
