stalk mode
I hadn't noticed until TFP (pictured) pointed it out last Friday that the N95's camera has a burst/time-lapse mode wherein it'll keep running until it either runs out of memory or power. I subsequently forgot about it again until today when he started filming such of the view over Rutland Square as is visible through our manky windows and past the meeting-table and coat-stand between his desk and the outer wall. I've tried time-lapsing a few times before including installing VisionGS and investing in USB extension cables to enable a webcam to look at something vaguely interesting such as the outside rather than just the area within 1m of the computer. I haven't yet installed it since going laptop (also neither Flash nor TMPGEnc to sequence the images) but always quite fancied trying to get some movement-of-the-sun stuff (and possibly a comparison of the passing of the day at both solstices) from a better vantage point than indoors can provide, perhaps atop a hill. After getting one of them I popped to Maplin to get sufficient things to build a small interval-timing circuit which would (when connected to a spare and semi-dismantled ML-3) enable propercamera to be used though I thought I might wait until currentcamera becomes oldcamera before subjecting its shutter (only rated for another 2,500 cycles) to a vast number of clicks. The small size and portability of the portable telephone makes it a much more sensible option for such things.
