Donkey Picnic
We had a visit to the New Forest today en-route to Torquay, and stopped for lunch at The New Forest Inn in Emery Down. I hoped to see the New Forest ponies which we did, but was surprised to find lots of donkeys roaming freely in the village. They were really friendly and came over to be stroked, but caused mayhem with the traffic lol! They'd just decide to cross the road, walk down the middle of it or stop to nibble from the hedgerows irrespective of the cars. Everyone was very patient though and waited for them to move. Alan got out of the car and was putting his jacket on and one of the donkeys just walked over to him to say hello - I was in my element as I love donkeys :-)
After a lovely lunch of steak and ale pie and chips, we set off on our journey driving through the New Forest and onto Torquay where we're spending the weekend with Karen and Andy. They've rented a lovely apartment with views over the marina, so we're hoping the forecast is right and we get some nice sunny weather so we can enjoy the terrace.
I won't have chance to comment much this weekend, but I hope you have a good one!
