Hidden Gardens of the Royal Mile

Bestest pal and I went on a guided tour of the hidden gardens in the Old Town this afternoon. What a lovely, peaceful and interesting couple of hours away from the Madding Crowd that is the Festival.

Our delightful tour guide was full of information and gently guided us through various gardens off Canongate to our final destination at Holyrood. Yes, she even managed to share some horticultural information about the Parliament gardens and grounds.

This is 'The Cockalorum' sculpture in Trunk's Close Gardens, a wee gem of a public garden hidden just behind the Storytelling Centre at Canongate.
