The Vieux Carré Jazzmen
Today ended with the Autumn Walking Festival Social Evening at the Comrades Club in Haltwhistle. Our entertainers were a quartet from the Vieux Carré Jazzmen and they went down a storm. Here they are at the end of the concert surrounded by walkers and friends who came along for the evening.
Earlier in the day I was on the short (8 mile) walk from Walton to West Hall, out in the west. It was a dry day, but very grey. The walk was an easy one in terms of terrain. We had some excitment due to the young cattle in two fields. They were old enough to be separated from their mothers and not at all agressive, but there were a lot of them and they wanted to engage with us! I did my best cow controlling act!
I wrote all this last night and then lost the text by clicking the wrong button.
In the extra you see three walkers cleaning their boots, not about to cross the ford!
