a new year!

16 days of amazing sport, how time flies......

"There is a pleasure in the pathless woods, There is a rapture on the lonely shore, There is society, where none intrudes, By the deep Sea, and music in its roarI love not Man the less, but Nature more." - Lord Byron

how time flies indeed, and what a fabulous couple of weeks it's been. experiencing such events and success over the last couple of weeks, the buzz, the atmosphere, the 'feel good factor', the glorious weather, it's all been amazing. i'm tempted to not watch breakfast TV in the morning, don't want to hear about normal stuff so soon, such as the double dip, inflation, and MP's bickering about trivial stuff!

anyway, a near perfect Sunday. this weekend has been my most normal in about 10 months! woke early again, but lazed in bed til 8am.

during the renovation of 49, i've managed to brake 3 hoovers, so mum had kindly treated me to a new one, quality! gave it a right olympic run around the house, cleaned top to bottom and it felt good!

went out for a bike ride in the afternoon. did 15 miles, in 1 1/2 hours, through Annesley, Hucknall and then home. as i got to Hucknall, i noticed the brown tourist signs to Byrons burial place. so, took a slight detour - have never been to see where one of our greatest poets was laid to rest.

home, and cooked a v healthy Middle Eastern Chicken dish, beautiful.

tactical nap at 7pm for an hour or so, so i can watch all of the fabulous closing ceremony, can't wait.....Muse, Spice Girls, George Michael, Ray Davies, The Who, Pet Shop Boys, and maybe Kate Bush!

can't wait - Proud to be a Brit!!!!
