What A Day!
There was some lovely light this morning so I went out into the garden to see what I could get.
Wee berries
Bigger berries
Tiny drops of water (there had been a few minutes of lift mist)
Tiny drops of water (seen from the other side)
And of course a spider's web (which I couldn't get in the right place relative to the sun).
Finally, there was the lavender - which was my favourite.
During my endeavours to get in touch with Chicken Lady about handing over my charitable donation, we found that one of the other paramedics was doing an absail off The Forth Bridge today .... so the donation was done on-line to him so that the charity could get the Gift Aid (and therefor more money).
We then set off to watch him plummet to his death complete his task.
When we arrived in South Queensferry, we went and had a spot of lunch - but not before having a look at the huge tyred motorbikes, the extremely wacky trikes and the severely modified old cars.
After lunch it was pointed out the the last road section in the center of the new bridge was being raised into place. By my calculations there are only 14 (or maybe 16) until they are all in place.
By the time John came to do his jump to his death slide down a rope, the clouds were rolling in and the Maid Of The Forth caught the last shaft of sun, so it was all eyes upwards to see a safe descent before heading back to our car - past John spread all over his car and up the mountain of steps under the bridge.
We got to the top of the steps ..... and heard the steam train (which half of the hoards had come to see) pass over the bridge above our heads. Saw nothing - but heard a lot!
We had missed its outward passing while we were having lunch!
Ah well ......... it was a good day anyway and I am sure there will be other opportunities to see a steam train once again crossing the rail bridge.
