Our first full day at Oswestry. I think the only thing our kids
remembered from their last trip was the children's playpark in Cae
Glass Park. I was pleasantly surprised to see it had been expanded
with new apparatuses, although our little boy would have been
perfectly happy with just the toy train climbing frame. In contrast,
I'm pretty sure the playpark remained largely invariant throughout my
time in Oswestry.

Another difference I observed was a band actually playing in the
bandstand sited at the centre of the park. For as long as I could
remember it was solely frequented by bored teenagers wanting to be as
equidistantly far apart from other people as was geometrically
possible. Which made everyone else suspicious of their activities,
and probably made them feel dead cool. So when a brass band set up
today to play there for the park's centennial anniversary, I had to go
over to take a few pictures of it being used for its intended
purpose. Nothing remarkable, but I did have a nice chat with a couple
from the audience who thought I was working for a newspaper.

Earlier, I took this portrait of one of the mums at the aforementioned
playpark. I noticed she was whiling away the time colouring in one of
her children's books, and also had a pretty striking hair colour. I
subsequently bumped into her a couple more times in town, which I
found a somewhat disconcerting experience compared to the greater populace of Edinburgh!
