We shipped our kids off to their grandparents' campsite today. It wasn't hundreds of miles away from Edinburgh, so we got to potter around the town of Pitlochry. My wife and I have been there numerous times, but I still struggled to remember where everything was. Amazingly, we finally saw an actual live fish in the town's famous Fish-Ladder observation room. On all our previous visits they were running a Fish-ladder Greatest Hits video recorded in the 1970s. I'm afraid our kids didn't quite share our excitement at this momentous sighting. Instead, they loved sliding down one of the nearby grassy bank on their backsides. Which I'm sure is a landscape feature not unique to Pitlochry but could have been found nearer home, saving us a 1.5 hour drive.
This subject was taken in a conservatory area where we had our lunch. It had a lovely soft light and I also wanted the paintings to be in the background; but which at f/2 is not really discernible.
