Forts......
.....constructed during school holidays now lie idle as they wait for some after school fun, some are masterpieces and come with flagpoles. My thoughts go to games of Robinson Crusoe and Tom Sawyer, shipwrecked with pirates looming out from the beach but I wonder what today's child would play - Pokémon at the beach?
Glorious day after a 1C start, brrr!! A fresh dusting of snow on the Puketeraki Range in North Canterbury but mum and I headed to the coast rather than inland today. A cool breeze was coming off the sea, gulls were gliding by and the coastline was reasonably clear.
It's been a busy day, a little local shopping at our local department store - gosh it feels good not having to go to Christchurch! A long visit to a local garden centre where mainly annuals were purchased and then a stop at another garden centre for some perennials. Stopping for lunch, some fresh sea air and then continuing on for our usual grocery shop, I'm now feeling exhausted, but a good exhausted if you know what I mean.
Thank you for all the stars, hearts and lovely words left for yesterday's Lemon Fragrant drizzled in raindrops, I'm delighted you all enjoyed it :)
Happy Thursday everyone :)
