The Pecking Order

Why do colds make you feel so wretched? Mine is now at the drippiest stage with a cough. That's all I'll say; you can imagine the rest. I'm not fit to be in company or anywhere, except bed.

An emergency blip tonight. A few years ago I had a lot of pleasure embroidering this picture of the Pecking Order. We certainly see a pecking order amongst the birds that come to our feeding stations, with the small birds deferring to the woodpeckers and the jackdaws.

I'm hoping for a rapid recovery so that I can go to see my photos in the exhibition tomorrow evening. (Not putting money on it......)

It will pass (I keep telling myself).
