Buck Up, It's The Rut
I was on the way to Epping when I spotted the Epping Green deer crew having a siesta on the edge of Parndon Wood. I pulled over and stalked my way to the edge of the field they were in under the cover of the hedge. In my first few shots they're really relaxing with their eyes closed, even the buck. He had his head up but his ears were drooping comically.
Suddenly one of the does clocked me. They didn't stop to stand and stare like they usually do but took flight leaving the buck giving me the look. He then high-tailed it after his harem affording a good view of his crown jewels.
