Leaving Croatia
So sad to be leaving this beautiful and fascinating country, with its many delights. This was a final view of the Split harbour side from the coach as we headed to the airport and the first of our three flights today.
Split to Zagreb was just a 50 minute hop in a prop aircraft which took off minutes after we had boarded. No long taxiways and huge runways here!
Next flight was Zagreb to Heathrow, with the inflight goodies consisting of tiny squares of cheese and green olives. Not enough to fill a fly, so glad we had been forewarned and had brought our own supplies for lunch! A very turbulent last ten minutes before landing which had one passenger in front of us shrieking with fear (it was a man!), but we got down safely.
A three hour wait for our final flight to Edinburgh, which allowed time for a leisurely meal. The time taken between boarding and take off was almost as long as the flight itself as Heathrow is so huge! We were met on arrival by our complimentary driver, who took us right to our front door and finally getting home by 11.30 pm. A very long day indeed:-)
