....It's over, it's over, it's over.......

And so London 2012 comes to an end.....I loved every minute of it......Me and the S & H were volunteers at Manchester 2002 Commonwealth Games.....I wish I'd volunteered for London......if you have the chance then volunteer for Glasgow 2014, you won't regret it....it's the volunteers that make the Games.

The Opening Ceremony was a triumph....the Queen uttering the immortal line..."Good evening Mr. Bond"....the real Queen!...... Priceless.

The events.....the competitors..... the crowds......the venues......Outstanding.

The Closing Ceremony....not to everyone's taste I know.....but a real celebration party......hell's teeth we even managed to get the crowd and the athletes singing along with a star who died years ago......Freddie Mercury......The Who......Ray Davies.....Darcy Bussell.....Elbow........Madness.......even the Spice Girls and Take That.

The Flame.....sheer brilliance.....and each country that took part is receiving one of the petals as a permanent reminder of London.....how cool is that?

My stand out moments?

Judoka Gemma Gibbons mouthing "I love you Mum" to the heavens after winning her medal.....I don't cry easily but that made me weep.

Greg Rutherford winning the long jump....so unexpected.

Mo Farah and his double gold...nuff respect.

Ben Ainslie and his "they shouldn't have made me angry" speech.

Nicola Adams....no crying...just a beaming smile as she won the first women's boxing gold.....and the Yorkshire accent!

Katherine Grainger finally winning gold after silver at three previous Games.

Laura Trott....a new cycling superstar is born.

Jessica Ennis....of course.....Super Saturday!

Kat Copland yelling to rowing partner Sophie Hosking....."We've won the Olympics!"

Victoria Pendleton's beaming smile at the end of the Closing Ceremony....like all the cares of the world had dropped from her shoulders as she begins her retirement.

And do you know what I've just realised......apart from the fact that there were so many stand out moments it's pointless trying to pick the best ones......seven of my picks are women.....I guess it really was the "Girl's Games".

What was your moment?

Das vidanya moy padruga.
