There and back again

Pembroke Castle

Day 3 of back blips. This morning it was raining cats and dogs but never a family to be put off our plans by the weather (never bad weather, just the wrong equipment!)
Off we went to find Pembroke Castle, roads flooded, dark skies and more rain but as we drew into the car park at the Castle, it all stopped and out came the sun.

I found the Castle a very impressive site and you could not but be overawed by its stature and imagine what it would have looked like in its heyday.

We were lucky that on the day of our visit, a group of people from the Sealed Knot were there in period costumes. They were great fun and very approachable and helped even more with setting the scene from the period.

A very popular part was the firing of the canon and muscats although I think some visitors were unprepared for how loud the bang from the Canon would be!!
