Surrey St market

According to Wiki there had been a market in Croydon since the 1200s but it was pushed into Surrey St from the High St 1893 when the High St was redeveloped. I remember the market when I shopped as a child with my Gran and my Mum and it was still there today when I met my aunt for lunch in Matthews Yard.  I remember it being at the back of "Grants of Croydon" the department store which appears to have been turned into an entertainment complex.
