We Arrived!

Flew into Pisa, went to collect the hire car - and found I did not have the correct credit card!!!!
Luckily SWMBO had her driving licence with her so we were able to use her card, however, it will cost more for the rental as we now have 2 named drivers .......... eventually - the power went off 3 times and shutting down all the rental company's computers.

But we got the car and headed off.
After a short distance SWMBO managed to get us going the wrong way on a toll motorway. So after a  fair few miles we were able to get off (and pay) and then head back in the right direction.

When we arrived in Montecatini Terme, despite having several detailed maps we drove around the one way streets for an hour trying to get to the hotel entrance.

We saw it several times but it was 'protected' by a no entry sign and loads of lunatic drivers coming sown the middle of the one way street.
Only it turned out not to be a one way street or a no-entry sign.

Still - we got there eventually, and to say the place is Grand is not an overexageration.
If you look around from HERE you will see a couple of pictures of the inside ( the interconnection is too slow to list them individually) ...... including our massive en-suite complete with spa bath made for two - the lounge area and the bedroom are each bigger.
I donlt think we will be eating here though - prices for starters & sweets alone begin at 25 Euros alone.
