Lincoln Highway
We got up and had a pre-breakfast swim and then set out from our base in Bedford.
We had a look around town and bought some gifts and then headed west on highway 30, the historic Lincoln Highway.
There were lots of sights to see on the road. I filled up at an old art-deco gas station (see extra). A lady filled up my car cleaned my windscreen and refused a tip because we were tourists.
We saw the local 'giant coffee pot' and a charming covered bridge.
We ended up at the memorial to Flight 93. It's a very, very moving place, the visitors centre is excellent...a great tribute, lots of people were visibly and audibly upset.
The sun came out and it was a nice drive back to the hotel. My wife went off to read a book and I went for a riverside walk.
In the main blip, a seven mile straight stretch of the Lincoln Highway.
