Dochu La

We left Thimphu this morning and up the steep and rather bumpy road to the Dochu pass at 3050m.  On a clear day there is supposedly a magnificent view of the Himalayas from here but today we were in cloud.  At the summit there is a memorial to those lost in a past conflict with Tibet.  It takes the form of 108 small chorten grouped on a small hill.
