Work begins

The work on the new class room block at Ysgol Bro Gwuan has started. This  £11m development will replace most of the teaching space that was built in the 1950s and should be ready for the autumn term 2017.
Although desperately needed the new building comes at a high price as the school sixth form will now be transferred to a new college building in Haverfordwest, 14mls away. The distance is not the main concern as I have always believed the older pupils are a very important part of the school hierarchy and removing them to a specialist 6th form college is weakening the whole school. The evidence is very thin when analysed to see if the colleges produce better results than schools which leads me to believe that this move is financially driven not educationally. Why have I become so cynical????
