There and back again

St Davids Cathedral

My back blip No5. We seem to be heading off each day to a different point of the compass and today it was north west to the Cathedral City of St Davids. We took the road that ran up the coast from Broad Haven to Solva, for the most of the time right beside the beach. The little towns were, from the types of shops on view, very much involved in the seaside trade and wet suites.

We times our arrival at St Davids with an enormous rain storm which lasted throughout our stay. The shock of the number of people crowded into, what is the smallest City in the Country I think, took some getting used to.

We were already very wet by the time we reached the approach to the Cathedral but I just had to try a shot. I have a waterproof jacket for my camera which works fine but you always seem to get rain spots on the lens as was the case here so I have converted it to B/W as it seems easier to clone the marks out.

As you would imagine, the cathedral was very crowded so it was hard to get a good shot without people in. They charged £1.50 for a license to take photographs and more if you used a tripod which I was OK with.

Emotionally today things were not happy amongst the group so we split up into two cars and went off to different venues for the afternoon. We ended up at a small Cafe at Solva for afternoon tea followed a walk along the harbor.
