Chicken Puzzle

When I collected the eggs, there was this thing with them.

I knew that the 'thing' was originally part of our table football, but in my weariness, I could not work out how it got to be in the hen house and in  their 'nest'. Puzzle puzzle puzzle.

I got there in the end - it must have been in with the straw which is stored in the garage. The chickens must have sat on it whilst laying.
