Autumn Glory
Really feeling the Autumn nip in the air this morning as we left home early to do childcare for our Granddaughters so Rebecca could catch the early train to work.
Stayed at school to see Kitty in the KS1 Harvest celebration, had already seen Verity at church yesterday in the KS2 equivalent.
When l was their age we used to take fruit , flowers and vegetables into school to be distributed to the elderly and sick in the community.
The girls took in tea, coffee and dried foods which were being sent to the local food bank for those in need.
Ruby, now at high school was on holiday today and came along too, how grown up she looked even though she only left primary in July.
When it was over we went to the local cafe for a hot drink and toasted tea cake. As l avoid bread at home it felt a real treat!
She then went to meet her friend to go to the cinema in Ilkley, first time they've been allowed to go on their own!
We needed to go to the hospital in Otley for blood test; in and out in under ten minutes.
Instead of coming back the usual way we took the back road towards Ilkley, passing Asquith and Denton, there was a brief spell when the sun tried to shine and everything brightened up for our journey.
I was hoping the uniformed trees planted each side of one stretch of the road would be showing their autumn colours,
l wasn't disappointed.
