I believe this is a Peacock.
I am pleased it is the nymphalid version and not the avian, as they scare me. Or rather they did.
Circa 1978, Trago Mills, Liskeard. One posing blighter mistook me for a Peahen and fanned at me. I was traumatised!
In other exciting news... we had a lovely afternoon foraging. Mirabelle plums and blackberries, scrummy.
The 1st Mrs Mart looked at the Sloes, all shiny and succulent looking.
'maybe this year they will be nice and sweet' she mused. They were not.
