Tanfield Railway.

We called in at Tanfield Railway today, but it doesn't operate on Tuesdays.
It is a standard gauge heritage railway, in Gateshead and Co. Durham.
It runs on part of a former colliery wooden waggonway and operates preserved steam and diesel industrial tank locomotives.
It was originally built to transport coal from the collieries of Co. Durham, to the staithes on the River Tyne, but now just transports people out for a ride, or for those who are railway enthusiasts.
This picture is the ticket office , and a small waiting room and shop.
It is a beautiful spot even without the trains.
