Today's the day ........................ to be a bit poorly

Dominic hasn't been so good this last week - and although he's obviously on the mend, he wasn't quite his usual cheery self today.

He's had hand, foot and mouth disease  - which sounds bad but apparently is a common infection that can affect young children - particularly those under 10 years of age.  It's caused by a virus that can give mouth ulcers and spots on the hands and feet.  There's not a lot you can do to treat it and it usually clears up by itself within 7 to 10 days.  Thankfully, it's nothing to do with the foot and mouth disease, which affects cattle, sheep and pigs.

He probably picked it up at playgroup.  It'll probably be the first of many such things .......................!
