Maisie Amongst the Poppies

I had a lovely midday walk at the river with Maisie today. I chose to walk at this bright time of the day because the vibrant Californian Poppies are in full bloom. Their petals are furled up in the early morning and again as the afternoon fades to evening.
When I injured my right shin in two places last Wednesday I hoped it would heal up easily and quickly. No such luck.... the wounds are slightly infected. I am now on an antibiotic. Drat!
