When In Doubt - Flower Blip

Danke to you all for your words of support yesterday - much appreciated.

They didn't, however, make it any easier to sleep.  I think I spent hours turning and tossing before I actually could sleep.  Consequently I ignored the alarm when it went at 6 and slept properly until 8.  Then I went to work.

Work was work - and it's good so.

And I learned a lovely German word today.  The German for "a wireless mouse" is "eine Funkmaus".  One of the very few occasions where the German is shorter and far more poetic than the English.

The boss of the firm responsible for yesterday's mega-rant turned up unannounced at the house today.  G showed him round and regaled him with every story of how things hadn't quite gone to plan (he said euphemistically). 

He's promised to put everything right.  We shall see. 

He also repeated that oft-heard claim that "it's hard to find good workers these days."  Maybe then it's time to pay more attention to what they're doing when they're out ruining the reputation of your company.

It was a lot better than the response from the bloke in charge of the tilers.  We had complained about them smoking in our non-smoking house.  His reply - his workers don't smoke.  I suppose all they do is light cigarettes then.  I think someone needs a reality slap.
