Against all odds - again

Back-blipping some of these Olympic and Paralympic shots incredibly late, but we were too busy at the time attending the events and looking after our many visitors!

This is Rodolpho Riskalla, on Warrene. His is an amazing story. He was a successful dressage competitor, living in Paris, but when back in Brazil last year to visit his sick father, he contracted meningitis and went into a coma. Most people would have considered themselves lucky just to survive, but Rodolpho has worked tirelessly to overcome and adjust to the disabilities he was left with and is back in the saddle, competing in the Paralympics. My admiration knows no bounds.

A schoolmaster in Maryland posted this comment on  the “The Chronicle of the Horse” site: “For the times you may get discouraged at the barn or when riding, watch this video and remember this man for inspiration and putting things in perspective”. It’s good advice, and here's the link to the video.
