Potato Bread
Day 3
The highlight of our holiday.
We went high into the Garfagnana mountains with a guide and translator so that we could learn to make potato brad with the village baker from a small village called Petrognola.
The baker is an ambassador for the slow food and authentic Italian food sector, he grows and mills farro which is a very old form of wheat. We made some bread, had a good look around his farm and them had lunch made by his wife, 5 courses and eaten slowly in the Italian way. We also sampled the Petrognola beer which is also made with farro and was very tasty. We went with this company if you are ever in the area which is a specialist in the old methods of food production.
This is KK with Paulo Maggazzini the baker, putting his loaf of bread into the wood fired over. I'll put an extra shot of him taking the bread out.
