Health, happiness and well-being

The day started with my final session of the digital champions cohort. We looked back on the previous sessions and had a good discussion with the Scottish government about the way forward stop.

Then some hours on office work before heading to the Royal Society of Edinburgh offices for an evening presentation and discussion on health, happiness, and well-being. The work that had been undertaken was more focused on mental health and well being of 10 to 24 year olds. Evaluation of specific interventions had not provided much evidence of effectiveness. Yet it was known that for is this group mental health issues were significant and would impact on their future lives.

Some of the discussion looked at the wider environment in which young people lived and also the need to consider prevention in earlier years and measurement of outcomes. Nonetheless an interesting evening and the start of more work for them to be developed and investigated.
