Bratley View, New Forest
This morning Cat Chapman, Liz Bellamy and Neil Davidson joined Steve Oldfield, Trevor Keville, Gill Keville, Jane Howard, Clive and myself for our meet.
Today we visited Bolderwood Deer Sanctuary where a herd of Fallow Deer can be found in the large meadow. We saw a few, however they were rather shy, hiding behind the bushes for the most part! There are several walks through the forest which feature some of the tallest trees in the New Forest, including Douglas Fir and Redwoods, along with beech and oak trees and we spent a good few hours walking and taking photos.
In the afternoon we headed over to Bratley View near Mogshade Hill, home to a Scots pine which has featured in many a photographer's portfolio! It looks very much like a Bonsai tree and sits just yards from the car park. This is my blip today. As you can see it was another lovely sunny day.
This evening we celebrated our SLPH two year anniversary with a meal at Prezzo in Lyndhurst. After a bit of a wait to be seated, we enjoyed a delicious meal and dessert (and a lovely bottle of red)!
Can't believe it's been two years since we started our Facebook group and began meeting up on a regular basis. We've had many wonderful days out, long weekends away and a couple of holidays in the Lake District together - lots of great photography and always loads of fun. It's this really special bunch of friends which make the group what it is :-))
