What's for dinner?
Cupboards restocked after summer holiday locusts have gone back to school.
I have a bewildering array of Cookery Books. My favourite is a very old Delia's 'One is Fun', from my single Days when I had a figure, ran round Strathclyde Park every night for fun. a little Barratt Mayfair house in sunny Motherwell (with a treacherous spiral staircase) and a little black cat called Billy.
I made a different recipe every night, and I wrote comments on the pages of the book saying who was visiting. There's even a page immortalising Mr S's first visit (A home made wine tasting night with Beef Curry!).
The house was so cold that the wine didn't ferment so I kept adding more yeast and turning up the Calor Gas heater ! The result was explosive.
Not sure if my cooking won his heart or my home made wine (I suspect the latter knowing Mr S) but he hung around for seconds !
Nowadays if I try anything too adventurous in the cooking department - it doesn't go down too well with the troops.
Maybe I should dig out the demijon relight his fire!?
