Rain Storm in NYC
It rained all day today getting progressively worse throughout the day.
We caught the train to Manhattan in the morning and went straight for the Highline. We didn't walk along it all the way as it was quite wet. The girls didn't want to walk back up so we caught the metro and found a pizza place for lunch. I bought a new scarf from a vendor outside the pizza place. We had a whole (pizza) pie for $13. We then walked down to Brandy Melville. Bibi had planed to meet her friend Kiera there but by the time we got there it was nearly 2pm and Kiera had gone back to her hotel. The girls bought a couple of things despite me telling them that it was cheaper to buy in the London store (the exchange rate is really bad - about $1.19 for a £1).
Penny wanted to visit the Bethesda fountain in Central Park so we caught the subway to 68th street. By the time we left the park, it had started to rain quite heavily. We sheltered a little bit from the rain in the Lego store in the Rockefeller centre.
We had dinner at Ellen's Stardust diner where the waiting staff sing to you. We had to queue a little outside before we got a seat. We were all very wet and cold. We then went to Times Square and by this time the rain was very heavy. We would have liked to stay out a little longer but the rain was too much so we went back to the hotel. The TV news said that New York had had a rain storm. To us, it was just rain !
