New Holland Honeyeater

I really fluked it this morning. I just came back from taking the cat for a drive (don't ask - that's a story for later), and coming into the drive I noticed that honeyeaters and wattle birds were all over the echium.

I really didn't think I'd be able to get a shot, but I just took the camera, and went and stood quietly outside for a couple of minutes, and they all came back to the plant for a feed.

Hence this much more glamorous shot of the New Holland Honeyeater, in which he doesn't look like a pom-pom toy, and not even like a football supporter. You can see his flashy yellow wings and all.

I'll try and get the wattle bird over the next couple of days.
