Need to learn more about flash

In these winter days I'm finding it tricky to find something to blip. Especially givne the awful weather it was here today.

How is it the wind can take your breath away?

Anyway...I took a couple of shots of another one of the furry gang very early this morning. Tufty had decided I should be in bed & was just trying to settle herself into a nice wee ball and I kept pointing the camera (read new toy) at her.

I prefer this shot without flash, I prefer her expression. But the with flash shot here, shows the ticking in her coat better, but looks a bit too bright.

So as I already knew - a bit still to learn!
