Day 244- Alice springs
Left my buddy Kay in Adelaide and the nice shuttle bus man came to pick me up. Highly recommend the shuttle company in adelaide run by Graham, the driver's are lovely and for $10 bargain! Anyway boarded the plane, AFTER having the most insane hot chocolate for breakfast- top deck! Half milk half white with chocolate shavings on the top! So yeah... the plane again I had the whole row to myself! Quatas very good airline! Good snacks! Once landed, the heat hit me right in the face! Cheeky shuttle to haven backpackers, very cute hostel! Even has a swimming pool, well I say pool probably to drown yourself in from the heat. Then I went for a quick beer before meeting back up with Philipp, a cool German dude I met in adelaide. We had a little wander and then hiked up Anzac hill to watch the sunset. It's crazy to think Alice springs is just a little town in a valley if you will just surrounded by big red mountains. With a population of 20,000 which suprised me! But for the first time since arriving here in April I feel like I'm in Australia! I thought this is what it was all going to be like... heat, red and!! Aboriginal families everywhere! This was my stereotypical thoughts on Australia.. it is just mind blowing how different one town is to the next never mind state.
Let the trek commense! Eek..
