Wightwick Manor

I hadn't been to this wonderful National Trust property for about five years and I'd forgotten just how wonderful the colours of the trees and gardens could be.

It was overcast and a little chilly - and the advantage was that I had the place to myself for the first hour. Sitting in the little summerhouse, wandering through the amazing tree colours was a positive delight.

If you're thinking of going, it's most famous for the pre-Raphaelite paintings and other wonderful related articles - all in the house. I didn't go in today - but believe me, it's well worth a visit.
