Autumn

My PhD student and her sister visited us today. Mme A and I had a lovely walk with them in the Penicuik Estate where the autumn colours were beautiful in the sunshine. Then it was back home for a meal and a board game with them. To spend the day with such energetic, smart young people was a real tonic!

After dropping them off in Edinburgh, A and I went to see the Botanic Lights. Although some of the big set pieces were spectacular, I didn't find it wholly satisfying. I'd rather see trees lit by autumn sunlight than coloured LEDs.
