Rural scene

Ryedown Lane links Romsey with the village of Wellow and just through these trees you can command one of the best views of Embley Park, once the home of the 19th century founder of nursing, Florence Nightingale.
Today, the mansion house is the Hampshire Collegiate School, an independent day and boarding school with students from this country and abroad, and set in 130 acres of Hampshire countryside.
This leafy lane is separated from the park by a local golf course, but it is one of the lanes I travel almost daily, and this time of year it changes daily as the leaves begin to change colour. Withe sun shining this afternoon, it began to pick out the warming shades of autumn.  But only just.
I bet in a few days time when I come this way, the overhanging trees will present an altogether different complexion.
