Trepidation

I was on my way back from a lecture at the RGS. It was a very well presented excursion along some of the lesser known areas of the border between Russia and the west - e.g. the Caucasus. Don't ask me which countries because I hadn't heard of some of the mini states around Georgia and Ukraine. And that is apart from Crimea.

Anyway, I stopped to gaze at the skaters by the Nat Hist Museum and was taken by this devoted mother taking her daughter on her first skating adventure. The child was very nervous and was upset about falling over. But you can see in her eyes that she really wants to learn to skate.

I love little vignettes of everyday life where you see the mother's love for her child.
