Smash and Grab

Well, well, well who would have thocht it or refused to consider it possible but President Trump it is with his finger on the nuclear button. Let us just pray that there are steadying hands advising him. It seems middle America wanted a change just as did the Brexiteers in Britain. First there was the Arab Spring, then the Brexit summer and now the American Autumn. The whole world seems to be at war or at the very least in a state of flux.

With the news breaking in the UK at breakfast time, it was a timely dreich walk in the rain to town to buy some sewing materials in John Lewis.

If it was a trip round the houses to gain an entry into the shop from Princes Street last week it has just got a whole lot worse, now that the demolition of the St James Centre is well under way.

On reflection, this blip of the grabber demolishing large sections of the building next to John Lewis might well be a visual metaphor for what is happening in the USA at the moment.
