Marathon Day

Andy set off very early as he had to catch a coach to Statan island. I went down to the lobby to see him off. I then went back to bed.
He was meeting Nick, Louie and Kevin at the start line as they aren't staying near us. Apparently that didn't happen as too many people about and they couldn't find each other.
I wandered down at 10.30 and saw the wheelchair, hand bikes and elite runners followed by the mass of runners from all over the world. It was a great event to watch.
I met up with my cousin David and his wife who live nearby. That was nice as I haven't seen them for a while.
The other supporters came down later and were there as Andy came past. We gave him a big cheer. Half an hour later the others ran past.
Pleased to say they all made it. They did great. According to them it was the best marathon they have run. The organisation to meet up after wasn't brilliant but I guess that's due to so much security.
We went to the bar at our hotel to celebrate.
I had a bit of a mishap as I caught my hair and coat alight. I went to look at a text message and I think my hair must have caught fire from the candle on the table. That then set fire to my new jacket I'd bought in Montana. I put it out with my hands very quickly. Quite scary. I wasn't burnt but my jacket was ruined and I've lost hair. It doesn't really show thankfully.
We all went out for a celebratory and well earned meal.
Well done to the guys. You were all fantastic.
