So.  The Donald is in charge.  I am pondering the merits of converting the Gin Palace to a Nuclear shelter.

However, being an eternal optimist, I am hoping that since (in my humble opinion.  Other opinions are available) President Trump is all about the kudos of the job rather than actually being interested in doing the job, he will just be a figure head and that experienced people i.e. non sociopaths! will actually be running the show!  Time will tell.

Given all that he stands for though, I can't help but be horrified at the irony of this election result in the same week we are wearing poppies, as well as posting photos of poppies all over social media with the banner Lest we Forget.  


It seems to me given all that's happening politically in the UK, across Europe and in America, with the sharp rise in right wing politics, that forgotten is exactly what we have done.  The consequences don't bear thinking about so I shall turn to trivial matters.  You know, the things that keep you sane when the world is going mad :-))


Lunch with John and Norma today.  It was very nice.  David managed to fix Norma's PC, which had stopped working a couple of weeks ago.  I think the problem was quite straight forward but he has been elevated even higher in her estimations.   And how brilliant to see an eighty year old so happy to have her wifi reinstated.  Now she can get back online and book her keep fit classes at the local gym.  What a woman!  :-))
