Larches

It rained all day today - NON FLIPPIN' STOP! 
Driving around the local country lanes I noticed the larch plantation was really changing colour, it seems so odd that a  conifer is in fact deciduous and looses it's needles in the winter in the same way as the more common broad-leaved deciduous trees.
At The moment the whole plantation of small Larches is a beautiful golden colour and so stunning I just had to take a few shots, even if it was pouring! 
I soon realized the rain added yet another dimension to the larches as the raindrops get trapped in the needles .......sort of natural Christmas decorations !
