Liriodendren tulipae

It looks a bit like stubbly whiskers that some chap is growing for Movember, a promotion for prostate cancer awareness month.
But no it is the flower from a huge tree. I hadn't observed the flowers before as I walked past this property but had picked up a seed head from it during the winter. Very attractive for Tiny Tuesday.

The after shocks in our area have lessened and we had a good sleep last night. Over night rain again and it has turned out hot and sunny. Other parts of the country not so lucky.
