A great find.

Hundreds of times we have driven down the M61 motorway to Manchester. Always in a hurry to get there and escape from the traffic.
Today was different.
A few weeks ago a blipper enthused about Astley Hall and Park. Just a mile from Junction 8 it was indeed a most enjoyable break in the journey. Wonderful woods and parkland and an excellent cafe open all winter. Worth setting off early for an hour or two here.

The woods in particular were an Autumn delight. A couple of extras show more.
